and &#8220;Clean Fifteen&#8221; are annual lists published by the Environmental Working Group (EWG), a non-profit organization focused on environmental health.<br \/>These lists are based on analysis of USDA and FDA testing data for pesticide residues on conventional (non-organic) fruits and vegetables. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Dirty Dozen highlights the 12 items with the highest pesticide levels, recommending you prioritize organic versions to minimize exposure. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Clean Fifteen lists the 15 items with the lowest residue levels, for which conventional options are generally safer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The most recent full lists are from the 2024 EWG Shopper\u2019s Guide to Pesticides in Produce (released in March 2024), which draws on tests conducted between 2022 and 2023. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As of November 2025, the 2025 guide has not yet been released\u2014EWG typically updates it annually in spring based on the prior year&#8217;s data.<br \/>When available, you can find it on the official EWG website.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/col]<\/p>\n<p>[\/row]<br \/>\n[row]<\/p>\n<p>[col span=&#8221;6&#8243; span__sm=&#8221;12&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h3><b>2024 Dirty Dozen (Buy Organic When Possible)<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These items showed the highest traces of pesticides, with 95% of samples containing residues and some having up to 23 different pesticides:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Strawberries<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spinach<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kale, collard, and mustard greens<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grapes<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Peaches<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pears<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nectarines<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apples<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bell and hot peppers<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cherries<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Blueberries<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Green beans<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>[\/col]<br \/>\n[col span=&#8221;6&#8243;
